Commonly used hydraulic unit conversions
1 bar ≈ 14.5 psi = 0.1 MPa. 1 ton-force ≈ 9.81 kN. 1 inch = 25.4 mm. 1 US gallon/min (GPM) ≈ 3.785 L/min. On machines of American and British origin, cylinder dimensions are usually given in inches, pressure in psi, and flow rate in GPM; in quotations and design work, the metric equivalents of these values are used.
